Buildings

Buildings can be constructed in provinces via the build menu. The available buildings depend on the type of the province, with some buildings only available in urban provinces and others only in rural provinces.

Buildings unlock unit production, improve province morale and resource production and they can even support units inside the province. After they are constructed, they can be upgraded to higher levels to increase their effect.

Use the info-button in the build menu to open the building details popup, which provides exact values and effects for each building level.

The following list provides a general overview over all existing buildings and their functionality.

Urban provinces

These buildings can only be constructed in urban provinces (cities).

Barracks.png
Barracks

Barracks are required to recruit Infantry units. Each building level halves the unit production time until the minimum production time of a unit is reached.

Resources: Food, Goods, Metal

Ordnance foundry.png
Ordnance Foundry

The Ordnance Foundry is required to produce support units that usually feature larger gun calibers. Each building level halves the unit production time until the minimum production time of a unit is reached.

Resources: Food, Goods, Metal

Tank Plant

The Tank Plant is required to produce tank units. Each building level halves the unit production time until the minimum production time of a unit is reached.

Resources: Metal, Oil, Rare Materials

Aircraft factory.png
Aircraft Factory

The Aircraft Factory is required to produce air units and allows aircraft to take off or land in a province. Each building level halves the unit production time until the minimum production time of a unit is reached. It also reduces the refueling times of airplanes in a province.

Resources: Goods, Metal, Rare Materials

Naval Base

The Naval Base can only be built on a shoreline and is required to produce naval units. Each building level halves the unit production time until the minimum production time of a unit is reached. It also reduces the delay for units when embarking or disembarking on the chosen shoreline.

Resources: Goods, Metal, Oil

Secret lab.png
Secret Lab

The Secret Lab is required to produce secret weapons. Each building level halves the unit production time until the minimum production time of a unit is reached. The current level of the Secret Lab is hidden to others.

Resources: Food, Oil, Rare Materials

Industry.png
Industry

Industry increases the production rates of resources and money in this province. Leveling it up increases these production rates further.

Resources: Metal, Oil, Rare Materials

Fortress.png
Bunkers

Bunkers reduce the amount of damage taken by units stationed in the province center. Leveling up the bunkers increases the damage reduction further. Bunkers at level 3 or higher also hide the army composition of stationed armies, which can be revealed by certain scout units.

Resources: Food, Goods, Metal

Capitol.png
Capitol

The Capitol is required to keep up morale in the territory of a country. The farther away a province is from the Capitol, the higher the negative impact on that province's morale. Losing the Capitol reduces morale of the owner's provinces, increases the morale of the conqueror's provinces and lets the conqueror steal a portion of the owner’s money. The Capitol can only exist once per country, but can be moved to another province.

Resources: Food, Goods, Metal

Rural provinces

These buildings can not be constructed in cities. This means they can only be constructed in provinces with a terrain of Plains, Forest, Hills or Mountains.

Factory.png
Local Industry

Local Industry increases the production rate of resources and money in this province. Leveling it up increases these production rates further.

Resources: Metal, Oil, Rare Materials

Airbase.png
Airstrip

The Airstrip enables aircrafts to take off or land in a province. Each building level reduces the refueling time of airplanes in this province.

Resources: Goods, Metal, Rare Materials

Fortifications.png
Fortifications

Fortifications reduce the amount of damage taken by units stationed in the province center. Leveling up Fortifications increases the damage reduction further. Fortifications at level 3 also hide the army composition of stationed armies, which can be revealed by certain scout units.

Resources: Food, Goods, Metal

Local port.png
Local Port

The Local Port can only be built on a shoreline and reduces the delay for units when embarking or disembarking on the chosen shoreline. Each building level reduces this delay further.

Resources: Goods, Metal, Oil

Urban and Rural provinces

These buildings can be constructed in all provinces with any terrain.
Infrastructure.png
Infrastructure

Infrastructure increases the movement speed of units anywhere within a province. Leveling it up increases the movement speed bonus further.

Resources: Food, Goods, Oil

Propaganda office.png
Propaganda Office

The Propaganda Office helps to improve the morale of a province by adding a positive modifier to its morale influences. Leveling it up increases the positive effect on the province morale further.

Resources: Food, Goods, Rare Materials
